Mr Stirling: alternative designs for a covered bridge, ND, not known to have been executed (2)

1758-94
Mr Stirling is unknown, but Bolton suggested Kier Stirling of Ardchullarie Lodge, Perthshire. The intended location is unknown, and Bolton has suggested that the scale of two twelve-foot arches is ‘too small’. However, a preliminary design for a simpler small-scale, two-arch bridge is attributed here as being an alternative for Mr Stirling on account of its recognisable scale and unusual use of two arches. The bridge is not known to have been executed.
