A sketch among Soane's drawings (Vol.69/89) dated March 1829 is either a preparatory sketch for this work with a proposal for its frame or a sketch made of it after it was framed ready for exhibition. The frame is one of the characteristic flat gilt frames used by Soane when exhibiting the large architectural watercolours prepared for him by Joseph Gandy at the Royal Academy.
