Finished drawings for a garden pavilion, 1762, possibly executed (5)

The arabesque ornamentation on the coved ceiling of the octagonal room (Adam volumes 19/123-19/124) is of the robust style of the early Adam office, as seen in Adam's early country houses including Hatchlands and Shardeloes.

The pencil-drawn plan for the pavilion at the base of Adam volume 19/124 is the only plan for the entire building. It shows a rectangular lobby or portico flanked by a circular room to one side and an octagonal room to the other. There are interior sections and ceiling designs surviving for all three spaces.

It is possible that these designs were executed. See scheme notes.
