Purpose
Finished drawing for a turret room, c1763-64 (2)
Notes
These drawings are thought to have been made for a closet within the upper ranges of one of the towers. It does not survive, and it is not known if the drawn scheme was followed in execution.
In the 'Paper Palaces: the Topham drawing collection as a source for British neo-classicism' (2013) at Eton College library these drawings were compared to the works of Giuseppe Bartoli in the Topham collection, showing his work as an important source for the Adam style.
