Record drawings for friezes, ND, most as executed (2)

Notes

It is not possible to assign a date range to these drawings as they are included in a volume of record drawings: drawn directly onto the page rather than pasted in. As such this collection of record drawings appears to have been produced as a complete work and may have been compiled some time after the work at Newby Hall.

The friezes for the gallery, staircase, hall, hall doors, dining room (later the library), drawing (tapestry) room, and study are all shown as executed and survive in situ. That for the circular room on the first floor was not executed, or was replaced by William Belwood in c1790. That for the staircase is found on the lintel above the screen of columns on the ground storey.
