Purpose

Design for a ceiling for the front drawing room for Thomas Nicholls, 1772, as executed (1)

Notes

This ceiling was executed in accordance with Adam's design and survives in situ, albeit with some of the medallions replaced with plaster roses incorporating electrical light fittings.

Adam's original chimneypiece from this room was stolen in 1913 and replaced with another Adam chimneypiece from elsewhere.
