Alternative designs for a ceiling for the saloon, 1771 (2)
Notes
It is apparent from the inscriptions on these drawings that the saloon was located at the back of the first floor, directly above the back parlour.
Bonomi's inscription on Adam volume 12/86: 1771 Commiciaro guesto Lavoro (work begun in 1771), suggests that the work on this ceiling was begun. It is not known to have been completed owing to Colebrooke's financial difficulties. See scheme notes.
