Notes
Adam volume 11/79 is the executed version of Adam's ceiling for the great room. Sadly, this ceiling was not removed to Lloyds in the 1950s, and was lost in the demolition. There is a reduced version of this drawing at the V&A.
The circular coffering of the executed ceiling design was taken from Robert Wood's Ruins of Palmyra (1753).
