Designs and a record drawing for a bookcase for Lady Williams-Wynn's dressing room, 1776 (3)
Notes
Two bookcases designed by Adam for this space (SM Adam volume 17/222) and executed by Richard Collins are known to have been executed. The bookcases were designed as fitted features of the room, affixed either side of the chimney and as a result they originally had no back legs. The cases were executed in mahogany, painted by Antonio Zucchi and fitted with locks by Edward Gascoigne.
