Curatorial note

With a mahogany drawer, brass handle supporters and glass ink bottles, with turned wood handle on brass supporters; top of box with hinged compartments front and back to hold writing utensils and shallow recesses between these to hold ink wells; mahogany drawer in the base with missing knob; one of the three glass ink bottles, the central one with the cut glass stopper, is original to the box.
