Curatorial note
Inner black reeded frame within boldly moulded gilt outer frame with raised outer band of reed moulding bound with leaves at the cardinal points.
This mirror, with its deep frame, is very distinctive and it seems to be shown in J. M. Gandy's 1825 watercolour of the South Drawing Room (Vol. 82, 29), reflected in the overmantel mirror. It seems to have been moved by 1837 and does not appear in the Furniture and Fittings inventory.
