Curatorial note
Mahogany and leather. Over-upholstered, with slightly bowed top rail; rectangular reeded top rails; fluted back uprights with rectangular ebonised panels top and bottom; paterae on top of the top rail at each end; the backs with inset reeded frame enclosing a diagonal (elongated diamond) trellis with moulded paterae at the intersections; reeded arms; sabre-shaped back legs and reeded tapering front legs with three bands of circular moulding around the top of each front leg; there are no terminations at the feet of the front legs.
