Curatorial note

This delicate small white beaker or vase decorated with blue flowers may have been bought by Mrs Soane who certainly patronised the Spode factory. Although not directly related to this small beaker or vase, in 1804 it is recorded that Eliza bought a dinner set of Spode porcelain for Pitzhanger Manor at Ealing, the Soanes country home (Mrs Soane's Note Book, 28 July 1804 'Paid Spode for Ealing china' and Soane Account Book, 4 August 1804 'Spode for a dinnerset £13.11.6'.
