Curatorial note
The panel is possibly after the engraving Mater dolorosa by Wierix. The print is inscribed H W f et e. The posture, hood, drapery and expression match the engraving but the halo has been omitted in the glass painting. This is a companion piece to SG118, Christ crowned with thorns.
