Curatorial note

This rosette and Soane S6 are a non-matching pair. S5 is carved in several relief depths, S6 has deeply cut petals.

Compare the last rosettes, presumably from the carved enrichment of Hadrian's Villa, drawn by Penna and reproduced by Gusman1 .
