Museum number: MY2

Curatorial note

The provenance of this relief, which must come from a grave or a funerary monument, is unknown. Soane installed it in the Monk's Yard in its present position in 1825 when the Yard was created and it forms the headstone to what he referred to as the 'Monk's Grave'.
