Curatorial note
This cast of a medieval carving is from an unknown source. It is part of a group of casts, hung together in the Monk's Parlour, that all seem to have been taken in a similar way, rather roughly. These may be some of those taken specifically for this interior by Soane's plasterers at Westminster Abbey and Westminster Hall. The group includes MP172, MP179, MP180 and MP191.
