Curatorial note

A muscular, heavier-type leg such as those belonging to Imperial statues in military uniform or nude divinities; from the condition of the surface and the marble it is not inconceivable that this leg belongs with the hands described previously.

Provenance help-art-provenance

Unknown but in John Soane's collection by 1811 when it is shown in a watercolour view of his Museum.
