Curatorial note

This is one of two small models visible projecting below the west ceiling beam in J.M. Gandy's 1822 watercolour view of Soane's upper Drawing Office at 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields (SM P113). When the Office was restored in 2022-23 and it came to putting this model back in its original position there, as shown by Gandy, it was able to be hung straight back on its original fixings, still in the beam despite its absence for many decades.
