Curatorial note

The entry in the 1837 AB inventory for this object reads A piece of Guiloche Ornament after the Antique, Plaster. Walter Spiers' in his 1906 inventory notes that it is a cast of honeysuckle ornament rather than guilloche and describes it as 'modern'.
