Unidentified panel of ornament or frieze, 19th Century

Plaster

Museum number: M1265

On display: Drawing Office - also known as the Students Room (pre-booked tours only)
All spaces are in No. 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields unless identified as in No. 12, Soane's first house. For tours https://www.soane.org/your-visit

Curatorial note

This frieze has the feeling of being two alternative designs for a decorative plaster ornament or a repeating pattern. On the left is a sheaf of corn within a wreath of laurel (?) leaves. On the right is a ewer or jug within a wreath of ivy or vine leaves.
