Curatorial note

The Soane Museum 'AB' inventory, 1837, records the previous item (A54) as 'Fragment of ancient Tile paving' and this one as 'Another'. It seems therefore that this tile fragment was a pair with A54. It is unclear whether these two related to the surviving tiles from Chertsey Abbey which follow them in the inventory sequence (A56 and A57).
