This design, executed with minor alterations, for the west gate on Kimbolton High Street, functions as a screen between the house and the town. It was executed with pedimented, rather than balustraded pavilions, and without the octagonal lanterns, but otherwise follows this drawing exactly. It remains in situ in good condition.

Pevsner described this design as 'a conscious compliment to Vanbrugh', as it provides a suitable entrance to the house in a stylistically harmonious arrangement. It is widely known that Adam admired Vanbrugh's work.

The building originally contained the laundry (now the school bursary), and the brewhouse (now the school shop).
