First part of title transliterated from the Greek: Βασιλικον δωρον. Translated by Jean Hotman. Variable pagination, final 26 pages numbered by the leaf i.e. 104--114, 114--128 with leaves 111 and 113 misnumbered 110 and 112. The first English edition was published in 1599, the second in 1603 upon James's accession to the English throne; three different publishers in Paris and Rouen published Hotman's translation in 1603--04.

Binding C17th mottled calf, gilt triple-ruled borders and centre panels with corner ornaments, gilt-panelled spine, gilt-lettered 'Pres Roya'.
