Anonymous. By Anne Thérèse, marquise de Lambert. The Marquise de Lambert hosted an influential literary salon from 1710, and was particularly interested in education at a time when women's education was commonly neglected. Originally published in 1728, the Avis had a sustained impact on didactic literature for girls into the nineteenth century.
