An account of the University of Cambridge and the colleges there, being a plain relation of many of their oaths, statutes, and charters. Copy Notes Inscription in ink on title-page Second edition, but no apparent warrant for this. 5923 in ink at head of the title-page. Marginal annotations in ink passim including references to Dr Bentley, Master of Trinity College, giving his date of death as 11 July 1742, and such glosses as Preston Rebellion, 1715 for 'the late Rebellion'. Folded sheet of MS. text in ink pasted in at front, with notes on Bentley's election to the mastership of Trinity College, datable to after his death.
Binding C17th calf, blind double-ruled borders, gilt-ruled spine, later black leather spine-label.
