The first collected edition of the novels and histories of the Restoration playwright, propagandist poet and panegyrist, novelist, and translator Aphra Behn was published in London, 1696. From the third edition, 1698, the dedication is signed Charles Gildon. Contents: I: The life and memoirs of Mrs Behn. The history of Oroonoko. The fair jilt. The nun. II: Agnes de Castro. Copy Notes In the Soane copy the title-page to vol. II is a duplicate to that of vol. I with the volume number corrected in ink to 'Vol. II'; the contents are otherwise correct for the second volume.
