'The late Thomas Little, Esq.' was the pseudonym of the Irish poet Thomas Moore. The preface and dedication to J[oseph]. At[ki]ns[o]n are signed 'T.M.' posing as editor of the 'Occasional Poems' of his late friend. This, the first volume of original verse by the poet, had first appeared in 1801 and was a great commercial success. With the imprint of S. Gosnell as printer on the half-title verso and colophon.

Copy Notes Marginal inscription in ink on p. 164, cropped by the binder at fore-edge: [K?]itty + 'Mary, I believ'd thee true, ...'.

Binding C19th half blue roan, blind double-ruled borders, marbled-paper boards, gilt-ruled spine. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for 1s. 4d., 2 August 1830. (Spiers Box. Binding 51).
