First published posthumously in 1764 (q.v.). Edited by Robert Dodsley. The frontispieces are included in the pagination. The first two volumes have a title-page vignette of a kingfisher. Volume I contains Shenstone's poems and vol. II the Essays, with a plan of The Leasowes. Volume III was first published in 1769 and has title: The works, ... in three volumes. Vol. III. Containing letters to particular friends, from the year 1739 to 1763. A new edition. ESTC t92452.
Binding C18th tree calf, gilt-panelled spine, compartments with urn and festoon ornaments, red and black morocco spine-labels.
