Anonymous. Despite this novel's alternative title, it is a completely distinct work from Soane's friend Barbara Hofland's A season at Harrogate: in a series of poetical epistles, from Benjamin Blunderhead, Esquire, to his Mother, in Derbyshire: with useful and copious notes, descriptive of the objects most worthy of attention in the vicinity of Harrogate, Knaresborough, 1812 (q.v.). Imprint on verso of title-page: 'Printed by Barnard and Farley'. Errata list on p. [4].
Copy Notes Volume I inscribed in ink on front free-endpaper retained from previous binding: John Soane / 1817.
Binding Later C19th calf, blind roll-tooled borders, marbled-paper boards, gilt-ruled spine. Payment of 3s. 4d. to George Richmond, bookbinder, 20 May 1853. (Curatorial papers/Bailey/Parcel 1).
