The French original, Nouvelles observations sur les abeilles, was first published in 1792. This translation by Sir J.G. Dalyell was originally published in 1806. Imprint on verso of the title-page: 'Edinburgh: Printed by J. & C. Muirhead'. Includes a chapter on the "architecture of bees", no doubt explaining Soane's interest in the work.
