The Soane copy as described is without the poetical dedication to Colley Cibber by Lætitia Pilkington found before the introduction in most but not all copies. Conyers Middleton's History of the life of Marcus Tullius Cicero, first published in 1741 (q.v.), was an immediate best seller. ESTC t111286; NCBEL II, 778.
