The title-page of vol. II is dated 1758 and reads '... Demosthenes and Æschines, ...'. Page 358 in vol. I is misnumbered '258'; ESTC also records p. 244 in vol. I as misnumbered '442' but in the Soane copy it is numbered correctly. With a list of subscribers in vol. I. Contents: Olynthiacs i--iii, Philippics i--iv, and the speeches 'De classibus', 'Pro Megalopolitis', 'De Rhodiorum libertate', 'De pace', 'De Chersoneso', 'In Philippi epistolam', 'De republica ordinanda', 'De falsa legatione' and 'De corona'. With the 'De falsa legatione' and 'In Ctesiphontem' of Aeschines. Thomas Leland also published translations of Demosthenes' orations in 1756 and 1760. ESTC t138464.

Binding C18th mottled calf, gilt-tooled spine compartments with ribbed leaf motif, red and black morocco spine-labels.
