At head of title: 'Evans's Edition'. Collected and edited by the publisher, Thomas Evans. An enlarged second edition in four volumes was published in 1784. Title-page vignettes signed as drawn and etched by Isaac Taylor. Final advertisement leaf in vol. I. ESTC t146587.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting half-titles, and without the final advertisement leaf in vol. I. Page references listed in pencil on front free-endpaper in both volumes. Signature of previous owner rubbed out from title-pages of both volumes.
Binding C18th calf, gilt-tooled spine compartments, red and green morocco spine-labels. Uniform with the copy of Percy's Reliques, 2 vols, London, 1775 (q.v.).
