Volume I only. Originally published in 1762, this edition is much enlarged. Title-page vignette is engraved by Isaac Taylor after Anthony Walker. The plate by Walker in vol. I is the frontispiece to 'The Day of Judgment'. Another edition in the same year (ESTC n21004) has the imprint 'Printed for George Pearch', with the title-page vignette reversed and signed 'A. Walker del. et sculp.' and additional engraved head-pieces. ESTC t42658.

Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting vol. II. Bought as a made-up set with vol. II in the third edition, 1771 (q.v.) from Thomas Boone for 4s., 8 July 1807. (Spiers Box). Boone's price and codes in pencil on front free-endpaper of vol. I.

Binding C18th marbled calf, gilt-ruled borders, gilt-tooled spines, green and black morocco spine-labels, blue brushed paste-coloured fore-edges.
