B.J. = Ben Jonson. This edition of Jonson's comic masterpiece, first published in quarto in 1607, was also issued as part of The three celebrated plays of that excellent poet Ben Johnson, London, [1732] (ESTC t79993). Press figures include on p. 23 the press figure 4; a variant does not have this. ESTC t31274.

Copy Notes Bound (1) with the author's Epicoene, 1732 (q.v.) and with Two plays written by ... George late Duke of Buckingham, 1731 (q.v.), preceded by a MS. general title-page listing the contents, signed at the foot Thos: Dornely, and inscribed near the top fore-edge pd 5s..

Binding C18th marbled calf, double gilt-ruled border, flower ornament at corners, gilt double-ruled spine, red spine-label with flower-ornaments gilt-lettered 'Comedys'.
