Copy Notes Inscribed twice on front free-endpaper in a juvenile hand J. Soane and again on front pastedown. The portrait of Milton is faintly inscribed in pencil J S / 1776 / 17. Also inscribed in ink on front free-endpaper Eliz: Ann Jenings.

Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt double-ruled borders and spine, red morocco spine-label with MS. spine-title in ivory.
