The letter appeared in two editions in 1820. 'A plain statement in support of the political claims of the Roman Catholics' was the title of a later contribution to the Emancipation Debate by Lord Nugent (1826) whose first parliamentary intervention in the debate as MP for Aylesbury from 1812 was in 1813.

Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spine, black spine-label reading 'Fort Montague &c', later numbered '40' in a series of pamphlet volumes. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for 1s. 4d., 19 June, 1830. (Spiers Box, binding 51).
