Volume II, containing 'Annotationi Sopra Le Gemme Antiche Di Leonardo Agostini Senese' based on material communicated to the author by Giovanni Pietro Bellori (see vol. I, p. 4), was published by Giacomo Dragondelli in 1657; a two-part supplement followed in 1669 (q.v.).

Copy Notes Volume II is bound (1) with Le gemme antiche figvrate di Leonardo Agostini parte seconda, 1669 (q.v.). Bought from A. Maxwell for 19s. 6d. on 29 May 1812. (Spiers Box). Volume I is imperfect, wanting pl. 114 and 189; the upper margin of the title-plate has been excised. In Volume II inscribed in ink on title-page J Reynolds; the two-page 'Intentione Dell'Autore' is mistakenly included twice, and the last leaf [F4] is blank.

Binding C17th vellum. Volume I is numbered in ink 2 on spine and front cover; spine lettered in ink 'Le Gemme / di / L. Agostini' and with a paper label lettered in ink 'Gemme/ Antiche/ Agostini/ Roma 1657'. Volume II numbered 1 on spine and 41 on front cover, with similar spine-lettering and paper label.
