Dedication dated 'Milano li 20 Maggio 1787'. Albertolli was appointed Professor of Ornament at the Reale Accademia in Milan in 1776. This is the second of his four collections of ornament. Without the additional plate XXIII found in some copies. One such copy is also in the Soane Museum (q.v.); in addition to the extra plate, it also has the letterpress preface reset with a modern 's' rather than the long 's' as in the present copy. Binding Early C19th half calf, gilt-ruled spine, black spine-label, marbled-paper boards.
