Dedication dated 'Milano 25. Febbrajo 1782.' Plates XXI-XXIV are signed 'Aspar inc.' This is the first of Albertolli's four collections of ornament. Some copies, possibly representing later impressions pulled to accompany the later collections, have plates XXI--XXIV printed on two leaves, rather than four as here; one such copy is also present in the Soane Museum (q.v.). See notes to BAL, Early printed books, no. 64.
Copy Notes Deckle edges. Verso of pl. XXIV inscribed in ink near bottom fore-edge A 317′. Bound (1) with Albertolli's Alcune decorazioni di nobile sale, 1787 (q.v.), in a volume purchased at the Willey Reveley sale, 11 May 1801 (q.v.), lot 114, £2 13s.
Binding Early C19th half calf, gilt-ruled spine, black spine-label, marbled-paper boards.
