This copy of Albertolli's first collection of ornament likely represents an issue printed to accompany his third collection, Miscellanea per i giovani studiosi del disegno, 1796 (q.v.) with which it is bound, probably as issued. The other (earlier?) copy of the Ornamenti in the Soane Museum (q.v.) has the XXIV plates printed on 24 leaves; here plates XXI--XXIV are printed on two leaves as in the BAL and Berlin copies, rather than four. Copy Notes Bound (1) with a new edition of Albertolli's Alcune decorazioni di nobile sale (q.v.) and with his Miscellanea per i giovani studiosi del disegno, 1796 (q.v.).
Binding Later C19th half calf, blind-tooled borders, gilt double-rule and blind roll-tooled spine with dark blue morocco spine-label; possibly replacing earlier binding supplied or repaired for 9s. (see payment to Josiah Taylor on 12 June 1804, Priv. Corr. XVI.E.1.7).
