Sections V and VI of the introduction were reprinted as part of Josiah Taylor's collection of Essays on Gothic architecture, 1800 (q.v.). The printer was the author's brother Joseph Bentham. The book is printed with a fly-title for 'Vol. II.' after p. 224, enabling it to be bound as one volume (as both Soane's copies) or two. The plates are numbered I--L, with one folding plate numbered as pl.XLVIII--L and the head-pieces to the dedication and introduction counted as pl. [II] and [III] (see the 'Catalogue of the Prints' on pp.290--91). With a list of subscribers. BAL, Early printed books, no. 252; ESTC t101266.

Copy Notes Copy 1: Some plates inscribed in ink with captions copied from the list of plates or page references to the text. On p. 34 there are some marginal marks of emphasis and a hasty sketch of an ornamental moulding in pencil.
Copy 2: 31.8 cm. This copy includes an unfinished, before-letters proof of pl. XXIV (an etched view of the interior of Bishop West's Chapel), bound to face that plate and inscribed in pencil in the upper right-hand corner J. Britton. It includes additionally an unsigned grisaille pen-and-wash view of the cathedral mounted on a leaf inserted to face p. 282, followed by the etching made from it by B.T. Pouncy for Thomas Hearne's Antiquities of Great-Britain, 1786 (q.v.) present in two states, one unfinished and before-letters, the other finished with letters and signed bottom left 'Drawn by T. Hearne' but before numbering as pl. XLI of that work; the leaf of description of Ely from Hearne's Antiquities of Great-Britain is bound in at the end. In this copy 'An Inventory Of The Plate, Jewels, and Ornaments' (†2) is misbound preceding the vol. II title (†1).

Binding Copy 1: C18th sprinkled calf, gilt double-rule spine, red morocco spine-label.
Copy 2: C19th diced russia, gilt roll-tool borders, gilt double-rule spine, marbled edges. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson, 13 January 1830, paid 11s. 6d. (Archive 7/14/36).
