This work was first issued in 1664 'chez ledit Bosse' (see Berlin Kat. 2379 and Fowler 60, copy A), at which time it consisted of the title-plate and 17 plates lettered A--R. Plates S--V were added in 1671. This copy matches the description given in Fowler (no. 62, copy C) except that the original imprint line has been erased from the title-plate leaving only the words 'Auec priuilege.' bottom right. Also it has, in addition to the unnumbered 'Regle Vniverselle pour décrire touttes sortes d'arcs rampans ...' (with Bosse's imprint dated December 1672), two more unnumbered single-page plates of diagrams of conic sections (one with text headed 'Pour joindre aux observations.', the other without any text). Lastly, the double-page (or, here as in some copies, folding) plate relating to the Corinthian order (originally issued in the Représentations géométrales series) is found here instead, placed between pl. M and N. This copy probably represents an issue by Jean Jombert (fl. 1684?--1713?) of c. 1700 alongside the copies of Bosse's Traité des manières de dessiner les ordres (q.v.) and Représentations géométrales (q.v.), with which it is as usual bound (see also notes to the respective entries for these works). For an earlier issue dating to c. 1688, see BAL, Early printed books, no. 337; a later issue in the Soane Museum dates probably to the 1720s (q.v.). See also Millard I, pp. 78-81.

Copy Notes Bound (2) with Bosse's Traité (q.v.) and Représentations géométrales (q.v.). With the title-plate to Représentations géométrales misbound between pl. S and T and two plates from the same work wrongly placed after pl. A.
