Drop-head title reads: 'Advertisement.' The twenty unnumbered engraved plates illustrate designs for architectural metalwork, including metal fanlights, sky-lights, balconies, stair-rails, etc. The designs have catalogue reference numbers as follows: 20--39 'Fanlights.' (on five plates); 40--45 'Screen Lights' (on one plate); 46--48 'Gothic Windows for Chapels, Summer houses &c' (on one plate); 49--56 'Sash heads &c.' (on one plate); 57--62 'Book case or Shop doors.' (on two plates); two unnumbered designs of 'Sky Lights with open Caps for Air' (on one plate); 1--8 'Balconies or Safe Guards' (on two plates); 9--16 'Gallery Railing upon Wood or Stone Landings' (on three plates); 1--9 'Staircase [rails] for Wood or Stone Stairs' (on three plates); and 10--13 'Designs for Steps, Railing, &c.' (on one plate). Plate [1] and [20] only are signed 'J. Bottomley Invt. & delt.' and dated respectively 'Decr. 1793' and 'Feby. 1794'. Bottomley's letterpress advertisement gives the address of his manufactory as 42 Wood Street, Cheapside. The manufactory moved after his death to Beech Street, Barbican. No other copy of this trade catalogue has been traced.
