Single-leaf, verso blank. A circular letter drawing attention to criticism in the press of 'the inattention of Architects to the plainest truths taught by Geology' and offering 'as a substitute for the material so justly complained of ... the Collalo Stone; the beauty as well as the durability of which, is established beyond all doubt.'
Copy Notes With manuscript addendum signed and dated Fras. Braidwood / London 5 Augt. 1819 / 82 St. Martin's Lane. Sent to Soane with a further printed leaflet containing a description of the properties of Collalo Stone (q.v.) and a covering letter from Braidwood dated 5 August 1819 and bound together as item 14 in a collection of pamphlets on painting.
Binding C19th maroon goatskin, blind-ruled borders and spine, marbled-paper boards. Numbered '111' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
