Quarter-leaf, verso blank. A circular issued by the proprietor of the quarry, Francis Braidwood, extolling this stone as a suitably durable structural material for buildings in London.
Copy Notes Copy 1: A reference to particulars being available from 'Mr. Archibald Swinton, Penitentary, Millbank' is scored out in this copy. Sent to Soane with a further printed leaflet containing an extract from the Morning Post (q.v.) and a covering letter from Braidwood dated 5 August 1819 and bound together as item 14 in a collection of pamphlets on painting.
Copy 2: 25.7 cm.
Binding Copy 1: C19th maroon goatskin, blind-ruled borders and spine, marbled-paper boards. Numbered '111' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
Copy 2: Loose paper.
