The introduction is signed by Taylor Combe (1774--1826). The title-page has letterpress text and is included in the pagination, but the etched vignette is printed from a full-page plate with the imprint-line of the British Museum trustees, dated 'June 1, 1810'. The etchings are from drawings by William Alexander (1767--1816) and are nearly all of terracottas that came into the Museum along with the Towneley marbles.

Binding C19th half morocco, blind roll-tooled borders, gilt double-rule spine, purple moiré boards.
