Written by Britton at the instigation of Decimus Burton, who laid out the Calverley estate for John Ward. Includes a final 4-page 'List of Mr. Britton's Publication [sic] On Architectural and Cathedral Antiquities'. BAL, Early printed books, no. 413.

Copy Notes With the nine lithographed views marked 'Proof' and printed on India paper. Inscribed in ink on front free-endpaper To / Sir John Soane / from the Author / as a memento of esteem & gratitude / Proofs. India. - An unique copy -. The uniqueness of the copy appears to lie in the state of its two double-page engraved maps, which are hand-coloured. A presentation letter from Britton to Soane dated 'June 9 32', also referring to this copy as 'unique' and bemoaning the onset of old age, is tipped in at the front.

Binding Original C19th red publisher's moiré cloth, printed labels pasted on upper cover and spine, the latter reading 'Britton's Tunbridge Wells. 14 Prints. Large Paper. Price 8s.'
