Volume I only. Imprint of Richard and Arthur Taylor on verso of title-page. With an inserted printed announcement that the second volume 'containing the completion of the History and Biography, the Frize of the Parthenon and other Marbles, will be published as speedily as possible'. It appeared only in 1837, after Soane's death in January of that year.

Copy Notes Soane paid James Moyes £1 10s. (reduced from £2) for 2 copies on 10 September 1817 (Archive 16/12/66/1). The receipt made out to 'Mr Moyes' is signed 'C. Stocking'. Moyes evidently got 25% trade discount and passed good on at cost to Soane. Unopened. Only one copy is now in the Soane Museum.
